Karen Pifher

She/Her/Hers

Karen is a visionary community development expert, facilitator, and devoted mother and grandmother with a deep love for rural Minnesota. Overcoming early hardships, including teen pregnancy and an abusive relationship, she navigated poverty, single parenting, and years of hard work before earning degrees in Social Work and Community Development. Her passion for equity-driven change led to a decade of impact in community health and development across West Central MN and Eastern ND. Inspired by her mentor, the late Cyndi Anderson, Karen founded Creating Community Consulting LLC in 2022 to build thriving, inclusive communities. With limitless grit, creativity, and a deep commitment to equity, she continues to transform challenges into opportunities for meaningful change.

Megan Jenson

Adventurer. Sci-fi nerd. Party Planner. She/Her/Hers

Megan Jenson is a data-driven advocate for equity, a passionate foodie, and an adventurous traveler with a deep commitment to reducing disparities through numbers and research. Growing up in rural Central Minnesota, she explored diverse career paths—from sports management to event coordination—before finding her calling in community service. Personal experiences with food insecurity, housing instability, and an unexpected pregnancy loss fueled her drive for meaningful change. After years in nonprofit program evaluation and analytics, motherhood during COVID reshaped her perspective on work-life balance. Seeking a role that aligned with her values, she partnered with Karen over a bowl of ramen, taking a leap that led her to Creating Community Consulting

PROJECT LEAD

Siham Amedy

Siham is a Project Lead at Creating Community Consulting, playing a vital role in strengthening community connections in Clay County. Her work includes facilitating partnerships for the Family Resource Center, supporting the Family Advisor Board, contributing to grant writing and data analysis, coordinating Inclusive Moorhead, and building capacity for the Early Childhood Fund. Passionate about equity and community impact, Siham values the opportunity to foster meaningful relationships and drive positive change.

Rachael Johnson

Rachael is a full-time consultant at Creating Community Consulting, contributing to fundraising efforts and supporting the implementation of the Family Resource Center. She thrives in the dynamic environment of CCC, embracing new challenges and opportunities to create positive change. Passionate about community impact, Rachael takes pride in working on initiatives that make a real difference.

PROJECT SPECIALIST

Karen Downing

Karen plays a key role at Creating Community Consulting, keeping the Frazee business community informed and connected. She manages the Frazee Forward Newsblast, a bi-weekly publication reaching 126 local businesses, and hosts Spotlight on Frazee, a weekly TV3 segment featuring local businesses, non-profits, and community events. Currently training in grant writing, Karen is expanding her impact on community projects. She loves CCC’s supportive environment, where she can share her experience, learn new skills, and contribute to meaningful initiatives.

Shelly Blauert

Shelly leads the retail space at Creating Community Consulting, working to expand Frazee-focused inventory while also supporting clients with grant writing and project needs. Passionate about CCC's mission, she thrives in its collaborative environment and is dedicated to making a meaningful community impact

She is also advancing technology initiatives, including AI-powered grant writing tools, to enhance community impact and accessibility. Passionate about community, Laura has built several successful online businesses and brings invaluable expertise to the team.
